My Top 3 Priorities

  • Improve Tuolumne County's budget decisions and practice of transparency
  • Invite the public "in" to participate in our local government process
  • Create long-range planning for our County's future prosperity which guides our short-term goals

Candidate’s name: Kathleen Haff

Occupation: Retired Tuolumne County Senior Analyst

Our county wants and deserves better financial oversight and greater transparency in government. We need to better anticipate our expenses and understand the long-range consequences of our budgetary actions to make our community stronger. We must place greater emphasis on growing our tax base by becoming more business friendly, and addressing deficiencies that keep businesses such as the light tech industry from investing in our county.

My career, in both the public and private business sectors, uniquely qualifies me for this position. Recently, I worked as a Senior Analyst for the Tuolumne County Administrator’s Office where I reviewed budgets for many county departments, acted as the County Emergency Services Coordinator and Legislative Analyst, and managed the Tuolumne Public Power Agency.

I have lived in Tuolumne County for 24 years, understand our issues, and know how our government can and should work. I will advocate for and represent all of the communitieswithin District 4. It is my heart’s desire to shepherd in a new era of visionary leadership, where everyone in this county feels “welcomed in” and appreciated for what they can contribute.

Together, we will make our community stronger and more vibrant.
