My Top 3 Priorities

  • Working with all PVSD stakeholders to ensure a fiscally sound district.
  • Maintaining the district's emphasis and commitment to a technologically rich curriculum.
  • Continuing to attract and retain the best and brightest teachers, administrators and classified staff.

Profession:Certified Public Accountant and Financial Adviser
Certified Public Accountant and Financial Advisor, Self Employed (1988–current)
Member of the Board of Trustees of the Pleasant Valley School District, City of Camarillo — Elected position (1998–2018)

I have lived and worked in Camarillo for over 50 years.  I have served as a member of the board of trustees for PVSD for 20 of those years.  My four children and five grandchildren have and will be students in the school district.

As a certified public accountant and financial advisor I am in a unique position to understand the complexities of district finances.  As our state and federal funding continue to tighten I will work diligently to make sure every dollar spent is as close to classroom needs as possible.

PVSD is among the lowest funded district in the state of California and the lowest funded district in Ventura County.  Avoiding waste and  focusing on the efficient and effective expenditure of available funds is among my highest priorities.

As a long term member of the community and the board I know our community and district and will continue to listen to all stakeholders as we move forward with the education of our children.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I have worked with many different board members over the years and view the Board of Trustees to be a bi-partisan position.  Conventional political struggles take a distant back seat to the governance of a district our size.

I am a fiscal conservative who strongly believes in and values our public education system.
